Hi friends! I didn’t get a chance to do my June favorites post, so I decided I would do my June and July favorites together!
1. New favorite wedges
I’m obsessed with these Marc Fisher LTD wedges! I’ve been looking for a new pair of brown wedges for a while now because the soles of mine keep falling off even with super glue! I kept seeing these around and thought they were really beautiful. When they went on sale at Nordstroms I decided it was time to try them out. They have been SO incredibly comfortable! Definitely the most comfortable heals I’ve every purchased. I could easily wear them for 10+ hours. They’re perfect for brunch with the girls, date night, or church! They are also well-made so I think (and hope!) they will last a long time!
2. Life hack for cleaning your peanut butter jars
I’m pretty big on reusing and recyling. I’m also a huge fan of peanut butter, almond butter, and Nutella (all the nut butters, please!!)! Did you know items can’t be recylced if they have food still on them?! You have to clean out those yogurt containers, orange juice bottles, and peanut butter jars so that they can be melted into new materials! (Protip brought to you by my enviormental bestie!) If you’ve ever tried cleaning out a peanut butter (or any nut butter) jar, you know it is a huge pain! I can never get all the remenants out! I finally discovered an easy way to clean them out! Add a pump of dish soap to an empty container and fill 2/3 full with warm or hot water. Let it sit overnight. In the morning, shake the container then flip it over and let it sit for another 10-12 hours. Shake it again and all the remaining peanut butter should be dissolved into the water, which you can pour out into the drain. Voila, a clean, ready-to-be-recycled jar!
3. Acai Bowls
This was on my last favorites but I’m still obsessed!!! Acai bowls are such a refreshing snack that keeps me full for hours! The one pictures above includes a packet of acai, banana, peaches, blueberries, gronola, peanut butter, chia seeds, flax meal, and a little honey! So delicious!
4. The best under-eye concealer
I’ve always loved MAC’s under eye concealer and have sworn by it for years but as I’ve been wearing it for longer hours, I’ve noticed it’s been creasing more. I did some research and found amazing reviews for Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I was a little skeptical because it’s so cheap compared to my trusty MAC products but decided to try it out. It really is amazing! The product is light and brightening dark circles without a lot of product. I also love the spongy applicator because it evenly distributes the concealer. I also started using a new method to prevent creasing, which I learned from this video. Essentially, you pull apart a 2-ply tissue and lightly dab over the area to catch the oil (which causes creases) without removing the pigment. Pretty neat!
5. What I’m watching
This is definitely a guilty pleasure but I’ve been loving The Carrie Diaries. I just finished the first season and it’s such a sweet show about high school, pursing your dreams, and finding support from family and friends. Anybody else watch it?! What do you think?
Would love to hear about your summer favorites in the coments below!!
